Rodríguez, Raleigh Go Back-to-Back In 7-Run inning As Mariners Win, 10–6
Seattle offense, powered by Cal’s multi-homer game and Julio’s grand slam, generates 10 runs on 16 hits in victory over Brew Crew


PEORIA, Ariz. — The Mariners defeated the Brewers by a 10–6 score in comeback fashion this afternoon at Peoria Stadium. Seattle overcame a 6–3 deficit in the eighth inning with a seven-run frame, powered by a Julio Rodríguez grand slam and two homers off the bat of Cal Raleigh.
Right-hander Bryce Miller made his final Spring Training start, tossing 5.1 innings and allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts. He threw 76 pitches (49 strikes).
Seattle scored its first run of the game on a Jorge Polanco home run to open the second inning, his third of the spring. Cal Raleigh homered in the fifth inning, giving Seattle a 3–2 lead.
The Mariners trailed 6–3 heading into the home-half of the eighth. The rally started with three consecutive hits: a Polanco single, Rowdy Tellez double and J.P. Crawford single. Crawford went 3-for-4 on the afternoon, while Tellez also went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Julio Rodríguez crushed a grand slam to right-center field to give Seattle a 9–6 lead, which was followed by Raleigh’s second homer of the game. Julio and Cal’s back-to-back homers gave Seattle a 10–6 lead, the eventual final winning score.
Seattle wraps up Spring Training tomorrow with a 12:10 p.m. PT matchup as the road team against the San Diego Padres at Peoria Stadium. Right-hander Bryan Woo is set to take the mound as the Mariners play their 32nd and final spring game of the year.
