MESA, Ariz. — The Mariners dropped this afternoon’s game to the Athletics by a 7–6 score at Hohokam Stadium. Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh homered and center fielder Luke Raley tallied a pair of doubles in Seattle’s 25th game of the spring.

Seattle scored its first two runs of the ballgame in the fourth inning, with Raley’s first double of the contest knocking in Randy Arozarena to make it a 1–1 game. Raley scored on a wild pitch, giving Seattle a brief lead.

In the eighth inning, Raleigh blasted his second home run of the spring, bringing the Mariners within one run with a 5–4 score. Raley would come through again, doubling in Arozarena again to make it a 5–5 game. The A’s took a 6–5 lead in the bottom of the eighth, before Seattle knotted it up in the ninth on an Austin St. Laurent RBI single that scored Victor Robles.

The Athletics walked it off on an RBI single off the bat of Max P. Muncy to win by a 7–6 advantage.

Right-hander Casey Lawrence started for Seattle, contributing 4.1 innings before Jesse Hahn (0.1 IP), Gregory Santos (1.0 IP), Collin Snider (1.0 IP), Gabe Speier (1.0 IP) and Brandyn Garcia (0.1 IP) pitched out of the bullpen.

The Mariners welcome the Milwaukee Brewers to Peoria Stadium tomorrow for a 1:10 p.m. first pitch. Right-hander Bryan Woo is set to make the start for Seattle in the clubs’ third matchup this spring. The game will be broadcast on Seattle Sports (710 AM) with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr. on the call.
