ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:

· Penn Murfee, RHP, selected from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Wyatt Mills, RHP, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Yohan Ramirez, RHP, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

· Cal Raleigh, C, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

· Evan White, INF, transferred to 60-day Injured List.

Seattle’s Major League, 40-man roster, remains full at 40 players.

Murfee, 27, is set to make his second stint with the Mariners after being returned to Triple-A Tacoma prior to yesterday’s game. He was selected as a substitute player for Paul Sewald on April 20, but did not appear in a game with Seattle during the stint (April 20–27). In 5 games with the Rainiers this season, he is 2–0 with 2 saves and a 0.00 ERA (0 ER, 8.0 IP) with 1 hit allowed, 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.

Murfee was originally selected by Seattle in the 33rd round of the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Santa Clara University. The Nashville, Tennessee native also attended Vanderbilt University. In 82 career minor league games (34 starts), he is 18–10 with 2 saves and a 4.09 ERA (106 ER, 233.0 IP) with 80 walks and 266 strikeouts.

Mills, 27, is 1–0 with a 1.93 ERA (2 ER, 9.1 IP) in 6 games with Triple-A Tacoma this season. He most recently pitched with Tacoma on April 23 vs. Sugarland, tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with 1 strikeout. The 6-foot-4, 214-pound right-hander made his Major League debut with the Mariners on May 1, 2021 vs. Los Angeles-AL. Overall, he appeared in 11 games with the Mariners during the 2021 season, going 0–0 with a 9.95 ERA (14 ER, 12.2 IP) with 7 walks and 11 strikeouts.

Mills was originally selected by the Mariners in the 3rd round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Gonzaga University. He has appeared in parts of 5 minor league seasons in the Mariners organization (2017–19, 2021–22), going 15–8 with a 3.40 ERA (62 ER, 164.0 IP) with 48 walks and 209 strikeouts in 132 minor league games (1 start).

Ramirez, 26, has appeared in 7 games out of the Mariners bullpen this season. He is 1–0 with a 7.56 ERA (7 ER, 8.1 IP) with 6 walks and 10 strikeouts. Last night, he tied a career-high with 3.0 innings pitched in relief.

In 2021, Ramirez appeared in 25 games with Seattle, going 1–3 with 2 saves and a 3.90 ERA (12 ER, 27.2 IP) with 12 walks and 35 strikeouts. The right-hander made his Major League debut with the Mariners on July 24, 2020 at Houston, tossing a scoreless inning on Opening Day. In 48 career Major League games with Seattle (2020-c), he is 2–3 with 5 saves and a 3.97 ERA (25 ER, 56.2 IP) with 38 walks and 71 strikeouts.

Raleigh, 25, has appeared in 9 games with Seattle this season, starting 8 at catcher. He homered on April 14 at Chicago-AL. In 2021, Raleigh appeared in 47 games with Seattle, making his Major League debut on July 11.

In 56 career Major League games with Seattle (2021-c), he is batting .166 (27x163) with 7 runs, 12 doubles, 3 home runs, 14 RBI and 11 walks. The 6-foot-3 backstop was selected by the Mariners in the 3rd round of the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Florida State University.

White, 26, was placed on the 10-day Injured List (sports hernia) on April 7. He appeared in 30 games with the Mariners in 2021, batting .144 (14x97) with 8 runs scored, 3 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 RBI and 6 walks. He was placed on the 10-day Injured List (strained left hip flexor) on May 14, 2021 and missed the remainder of the season due to the injury.

White was originally selected by the Mariners in the 1st round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft (17th overall) out of the University of Kentucky. He made his Major League debut with the Mariners on July 24, 2020 at Houston, and has appeared in parts of 2 Major League seasons with the Mariners (2020-c). Overall, he is batting .165 (46x279) with 27 runs, 10 doubles, 10 home runs, 35 RBI, 24 walks and 1 stolen base in 84 career games.
