SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:

· Jimmy Yacabonis (#56), RHP, selected from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Wyatt Mills, RHP, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Jake Fraley, OF, placed on 10-day Injured List (right shoulder inflammation).

· Anthony Misiewicz, LHP, placed on 10-day Injured List (left forearm strain, retro 8/25).

· Shed Long Jr., INF, transferred to 60-day Injured List (right shin stress reaction).

· Keynan Middleton, RHP, outrighted to Triple-A Tacoma.

The Mariners Major League, 40-man, roster remains full at 40-players.

Yacabonis (YACK-ah-bone-iss), 29, is 3–0 with 4 saves and a 1.72 ERA (6 ER, 31.1 IP) with 9 walks and 29 strikeouts in 24 games (1 start) with Triple-A Tacoma this season. He was signed by Seattle as a minor league free agent with an invite to spring training on Dec. 29, 2020 after spending last season in the Mariners organization.

He appeared in 2 games (1 start) with the Mariners last season, going 0–1 with a 3.86 ERA (1 ER, 2.1 IP) with 3 walks and 1 strikeout. In his Major League career, he’s appeared in 57 games (12 starts) with Baltimore (2017–19) and Seattle (2020), going 3–5 with a 5.71 ERA (66 ER, 104.0 IP) with 59 walks and 75 strikeouts.

Mills, 26, was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma yesterday. He has appeared in 10 games over 5 stints with the Mariners this season, going 0–0 with a 10.03 ERA (13 ER, 11.2 IP) with 7 walks and 11 strikeouts.

The right-hander is 2–1 with 2 saves and a 2.92 ERA (8 ER, 24.2 IP) with 6 walks and 43 strikeouts in 18 games (1 start) with Triple-A Tacoma this season.

The Spokane, Washington native attended Gonzaga University and was drafted by Seattle in the 3rd round of the 2017 MLB First-Year Player Draft. In 4 minor league seasons (2017–19, 2021), Mills is 12–7 with 27 saves and a 3.46 ERA (58 ER, 150.2 IP), walking 45 and striking out 197 in 121 games. He was added to the 40-man roster on Nov. 20, 2020.

Fraley, 26, is batting .213 (38x178) with 23 runs, 4 doubles, 9 home runs, 30 RBI, 9 stolen bases and 40 walks in 62 games with the Mariners this season. He’s gotten on-base at a .359 clip, posting an 18.2% walk rate. He spent time on the Injured List from July 18-August 2.

The left-handed hitting outfielder was on the 10-day Injured List earlier this season from April 7-May 30 with a left hamstring strain. Fraley has recorded two walk-offs this season, a bases loaded walk on Opening Night, April 1 vs. San Francisco and a walk-off single on July 2 vs. Texas.

Fraley was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2nd round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana State University. He was acquired by Seattle from Tampa Bay along with Mallex Smith (of) in exchange for Mike Zunino ©, Guillermo Heredia (of) and Michael Plassmeyer (lhp).

Misiewicz (mih-SEV-itch), 26, has appeared in 54 games with Seattle this season, going 4–4 with a 4.08 ERA (21 ER, 46.1 IP) with 11 walks and 47 strikeouts. The left-hander was on the Mariners Opening Night roster, with 2 Injured List stints this season from April 12–16 and May 21–22.

The 6-foot-1 Michigan native has appeared in 40 Major League games, all with Seattle, going 2–4 with a 4.08 ERA (16 ER, 35.1 IP) with 38 hits allowed, 11 walks and 35 strikeouts. Misiewicz made his MLB debut with the Mariners on July 24, 2020 and was originally selected by Seattle in the 18th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Michigan State University.

Long Jr., 26, was placed on the 10-day Injured List on Aug. 2 with a right shin stress reaction. The infielder began the season on the 10-day Injured List and was transferred to the 60-day Injured List on April 27.

The Alabama native has appeared in 110 big league games with Seattle (2019–21), batting .216 (82x380) with 44 runs, 21 doubles, 2 triples, 12 home runs, 41 RBI, 8 steals and 36 walks. He made his MLB debut May 11, 2019 at Fenway Park.

Long Jr. was acquired by the Mariners from the New York Yankees in exchange for minor league outfielder Josh Stowers on Jan. 21, 2019. Long Jr. was traded from Cincinnati to New York-AL earlier that day. He was originally selected by Cincinnati in the 12th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Jacksonville (AL) High School.

Middleton, 27, was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Aug. 25 and designated for assignment on Aug. 26. He is 1–2 with 4 saves and a 4.94 ERA (17 ER, 31.0 IP) in 31 relief appearances and 1 start this season. He has 19 walks and 24 strikeouts, allowing just a 1.4% home run rate with the Mariners this season.

The right-hander was originally selected by the Angels in the third round of the of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Lane Community College (OR). He made his Major League debut with the Angels on May 5, 2017 vs. Houston. Overall, he has appeared in parts of 5 Major League seasons with the Angels (2017–20) and Mariners (2021), going 7–4 with 13 saves and a 3.84 ERA (54 ER, 126.2 IP) with 59 walks and 120 strikeouts.
