MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:

· Eduard Bazardo (#83), RHP, reinstated from 15-day Injured List (right rotator cuff strain).

· Kirby Snead (#43), LHP, selected from Triple-A Tacoma.

· Tayler Saucedo, LHP, placed on 15-day Injured List (right knee hyperextension).

· Emerson Hancock, RHP, optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

· Matt Brash, RHP, transferred to 60-day Injured List.

The Mariners Major League, 40-man roster remains full at 40 players.

Bazardo (buh-ZAR-doh), 28, has made 5 rehab appearances with Triple-A Tacoma this season, recording one walk and 7 strikeouts across 5.1 innings of work after starting the season on the 15-day Injured List with a right rotator cuff strain.

Bazardo appeared in 9 games with Seattle in 2023, posting a 2.63 ERA (4 ER, 13.2 IP) with 4 walks and 14 strikeouts after being acquired by the Mariners on Aug. 1 from Baltimore in exchange for minor league right-hander Logan Rinehart.

The Maracay, Venezuela native has appeared in 3 Major League seasons with Boston (2021–22), Baltimore (2023) and Seattle (2023-c), going 1–0 with a 3.31 ERA (13 ER, 35.1 IP) with 10 walks and 29 strikeouts in 26 relief appearances. The right-hander was originally signed by the Red Sox on July 2, 2014 and made his Major League debut April 14, 2021 at Minnesota.

Snead, 29, will make his Mariners debut when he first appears in a game. If Snead is the next player to make his Mariners debut, he will become the 1,000th all-time player in franchise history. He was signed by Seattle to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training on Feb. 7, 2024.

In 12 relief appearances with Triple-A Tacoma this season, the left-hander has posted a 2.92 ERA (4 ER, 12.1 IP) with 2 walks and 13 strikeouts. Snead has posted a 0.892 WHIP and 6.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Snead has appeared in 3 Major League seasons with Toronto (2021) and Oakland (2022–23), going 2–4 with one save and a 5.20 ERA (37 ER, 64.0 IP) with 30 walks and 51 strikeouts. He was originally selected by Toronto in the 10th round of the 2016 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Florida, where he pitched for the Gators from 2014–16. Snead made his Major League debut with the Blue Jays on July 28, 2021 at Fenway Park.

Saucedo (saw-SAY-doe), 30, left last night’s game during his pitching appearance after making a defensive play at first base in the bottom of the 8th inning.

In 14 games out of the Mariners bullpen this season, Saucedo is 1–0 with one save and a 2.70 ERA (4 ER, 13.1 IP) with 5 walks (2 intentional) and 13 strikeouts. “Sauce” has made 66 appearances for the Mariners (2023-c), going 4–2 with 2 saves and a 3.39 ERA (23 ER, 61.0 IP) with 28 walks and 56 strikeouts.

Saucedo was originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 21st round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Tennessee Wesleyan University. He made his Major League debut with the Jays on June 17, 2021. He was claimed off waivers by the Mets on Nov. 9, 2022, and then claimed off waivers by the Mariners from the Mets on Jan. 31, 2023.

The Hawaii-born hurler grew up in Washington and attended Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, Washington. In 99 Major League appearances with Toronto (2021–22) and Seattle (2023-c), the left-hander is 4–2 with 2 saves and a 4.03 ERA (40 ER, 89.1 IP) with 39 walks and 75 strikeouts.

Hancock, 24, has made 7 starts with Seattle this season, with his 3 quality starts tied for most among Major League rookies in 2024. In the 7 starts, Hancock is 3–3 with a 5.24 ERA (20 ER, 34.1 IP) with 11 walks and 23 strikeouts.

The right-hander recorded his first Major League win on April 1 vs. Cleveland in his first outing of the season. Hancock was the #11 prospect (MLB Pipeline) in the Mariners organization coming into the year.

Hancock was selected by Seattle in the 1st round (6th overall) of the 2020 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Georgia. The 6-foot-4 righty made his MLB debut on Aug. 9, 2023 vs. San Diego, tossing 5.0 innings of one-run ball. In 10 career big league starts with Seattle (2023-c), Hancock is 3–3 with a 5.05 ERA (26 ER, 46.1 IP) with 14 walks and 29 strikeouts.

Brash, 25, began the season on the 15-day Injured List with right elbow inflammation. In 2023, Brash was one of the best relief pitchers in the Major Leagues, going 9–4 with 4 saves and a 3.06 ERA (24 ER, 70.2 IP) with 29 walks and 107 strikeouts.

In 2023, Brash became the 5th Mariners reliever to record 100+ strikeouts in a season, joining Bill Caudill (1982), J.J. Putz (2006), Edwin Díaz (2018) and Paul Sewald (2021).

In 117 Major League appearances (5 starts), all with Seattle (2022-c), Brash is 13–8 with 4 saves and a 3.63 ERA (49 ER, 121.1 IP) with 62 walks and 169 strikeouts. He made his Major League debut with the Mariners in a start at the Chicago White Sox on April 12, 2022.

The Kingston, Ontario, Canada native was originally selected by San Diego in the 4th round of the 2019 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Niagara University (NY), becoming the first Niagara-product to appear in the big leagues since Sal “The Barber” Maglie pitched his final season in 1958. Brash was acquired by the Mariners on Sept. 17, 2020 as the player to be named later in an Aug. 31, 2020 deal that sent right-handed pitcher Taylor Williams to the Padres.
