TRIPLE-A TACOMA RAINIERS

LF Jarred Kelenic and C Cal Raleigh combined to hit 3 home runs, but it wasn’t enough as Tacoma fell to El Paso 7–6 in 12 innings on Thursday night. Kelenic (2x6, 3 R, 2 HR, 2 RBI) made his AAA debut, hitting going 2-for-6 with 3 runs scored, 2 home runs and 2 RBI. He hit solo home runs in the 5th and 7th innings. Raleigh (1x5, R, HR, BB, HBP) hit a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to tie the game 4–4. Kelenic, CF Braden Bishop (2x5, RBI, BB) and DH Jose Godoy (2x5, RBI) each collected multi-hit games, while Raleigh, SS Donovan Walton (1x6), RF Eric Filia (1x5, R, BB) and 2B Jack Reinheimer (1x5, R) each collected 1 of the 10 hits. Starter Paul Sewald (2.0,0,0,0,0,5) retired all 6 batters faced, including striking out 5 over 2.0 innings, but did not factor into the decision. RH Yohan Ramirez (2.0,2,0,0,0,4), RH Reeves Martin (2.0,0,0,0,2,0), RH Taylor Guerrieri (1.0,2,2,2,1,3), RH Vinny Nittoli (2.0,0,0,0,0,2), RH Domingo Tapia (2.0,2,3,1,1,1) and RH Brady Lail (1.0,1,2,1,1,0) combined to allow 7 runs over 10.0 innings in relief. Lail picked up the loss after allowing 2 runs (1 ER) in the top of the 12th inning.

· HOMER HAPPYJarred Kelenic recorded his 4th career multi-home run game on May 6 vs. El Paso, going 2-for-6 with 3 runs scored 2 home runs and 2 RBI (previous: 4/27/19 vs. Asheville w/A West Virginia, 8/23/19 vs. Amarillo w/AA Arkansas & 9/1/19 at Amarillo w/AA Arkansas).

DOUBLE-A ARKANSAS TRAVELERS

The Travelers rallied for 1 run in the bottom of the 6th inning to tie the game 2–2 and scored 2 more runs in the bottom of the 7th as Arkansas came-from-behind to defeat NW Arkansas 4–2 on Thursday night. 1B Jake Scheiner (1x4, R, HR, RBI), 3B Bobby Honeyman (1x3, BB), SS David Masters (1x4, R, 2B), CF Connor Lien (1x3, R, 3B, RBI) and C Jake Anchia (1x2, R, HR, RBI, BB) each collected 1 of the Travelers 5 hits. Scheiner hit his 2nd home run of the season with a solo blast with 1 out in the 2nd inning, while Anchia lead off the 6th inning with his first home run of the season. Starter Ian McKinney (5.0,5,2,2,1,9,HR) allowed 2 runs on 5 hits while walking 1 and striking out 9 over 5.0 innings, but did not factor into the decision. It marked the 8th time in his career to strikeout out at least 9 batters in a game (last: 8/27/19 at Corpus Christi w/AA Arkansas). LH Nick Duron (2.0,1,0,0,0,4), RH Darrin Gillies (1.1,0,0,0,3,3) and RH Jack Anderson (0.2,0,0,0,0,0) combined to hold the Naturals scoreless over the final 4.0 innings in relief. Duron earned his first win of the season after striking out 4 over 2.0 scoreless innings and Anderson retired both batters faced in the 9th inning to pick up his first save.

HIGH-A EVERETT AQUASOX

The AquaSox scored 12 runs on 16 hits as Everett defeated Hillsboro 12–1 on Thursday night. The AquaSox had 6 players record at least 2 hits, including 2B Kaden Polcovich (3x4, R, 2B, RBI), LF Joseph Rosa (3x4, 2 R, RBI, BB), RF Zach DeLoach (2x5, R, 2 RBI), CF Julio Rodriguez (2x4, 2 R, 2 RBI, 2 B), 3B Austin Shenton (2x5, R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB) and SS Patrick Frick (2x4, 3 R, 2B, 2 RBI). Shenton led the team with 3 RBI, while DeLoach, Rodriguez and Frick each drove in 2 of the AquaSox’s 12 runs. Starter Emerson Hancock (2.0,0,0,0,1,3) made his professional debut allowing only 1 walk and striking out 3 over 2.0 scoreless innings. RH Bernie Martinez (3.1,2,1,1,2,3) earned his first win of the season, allowing 1 run on 2 hits over 3.1 innings in relief. RH Evan Johnson (2.0,0,0,0,2,6) and RH Kyle Hill (1.0,0,0,0,0,1) combined to allow 2 walks and striking out 7 over 3.2 hitless innings in relief to close out the game.

LOW-A MODESTO NUTS

SS Noelvi Marte drove in 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning as Modesto held on for a 2–1 win over Stockton on Thursday night. Marte (1x4, 2 RBI), LF Cade Marlow (1x4), 2B Cesar Izturis Jr. (1x3, R) and C Matt Scheffler (1x3, 2B) each collected 1 of the Nuts 4 hits. LH Adam Macko (4.0,2,0,0,2,7) allowed only 2 hits while walking 2 and striking out 7 over 4.0 scoreless innings, but did not factor into the decision. RH Juan Mercedes (2.0,2,1,1,0,4) allowed 2 run over 2.0 innings to earn his first win of the season, while RH Matt Willrodt (2.0,2,0,0,0,4) allowed 2 hits and struck out 4 over the 7th and 8th innings, while RH Travis Kuhn (1.0,2,0,0,1,1) tossed a scoreless 9th inning to pick up his first save of the season.

OF NOTE:

· HOT START — OF Cade Marlow has hit safely in all 3 games he has appeared this season, batting .364 (4x11) with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, 1 walk and 1 stolen base.
