HEY SEATTLE, AS YOU KNOW…on Thursday it was announced that the Mariners received approval from the State of Washington and King County to host up to 9,000 fans per game at T-Mobile Park beginning on April 1, but…DID YOU KNOW?…tickets will be available in small, socially distanced pods of 1–6 fans, and pods must be members of the same household…the first 11 games of the season will be offered at first, and season-ticket holders will be given initial priority to reserve their seats before they go on sale to single-game buyers on Thursday, March 25, at 10 a.m. PT.

TODAY’S TILT…the Mariners host the Cincinnati Reds in their second of back-to-back night games…Seattle tied its 5th game of the spring yesterday, 2 more ties than any other Cactus League club and extending the franchise record for most ties in a spring…tonight is the first Mariners night game at Peoria Stadium in 2021…left-hander Nick Margevicius will start with righty Justin Dunn expected to follow.

NEXT THREE ON TV…the Mariners play on ROOT SPORTS in each of their next 3 games…today’s matchup against Cincinnati, Saturday at the Rockies and Sunday vs. Milwaukee will all be televised on ROOT…Aaron Goldsmith and Mike Blowers are on the call for tonight’s game…Blowers will join Colorado’s TV crew on Saturday…Blowers will be joined by Dave Sims on Sunday…all 3 games will also be broadcast live on 710 ESPN with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill.

VS. CINCINNATI…the Mariners and Reds have met 20 times in Spring Training…Seattle owns a 14–6 advantage in the matchup…the clubs last met on Feb. 26, 2020 in a 5–3 Mariners victory at Goodyear Ballpark…Justin Dunn started and tossed 2.0 innings in that game…the teams last met in Peoria on March 21, 2019 in a 6–3 Seattle win…Dunn also started that game, tossing 4.0 innings and allowing just 1 run…if Dunn appears as expected tonight, he will have appeared in the Mariners last 3 spring contests against Cincinnati.

SEAGER’S SPRING…Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager went 2-for-3 in Wednesday’s game, bringing his 2021 spring batting average to .500 (5x10) in 6 games, getting on base at a .643 clip with a .900 slugging percentage and 1.543 OPS…he has reached base safely in 5 of his 6 spring games, and reached in 5 consecutive plate appearances before his most recent one (a popout to shortstop)…Seager tonight will play in his 170th career Spring Training game for the Mariners.

NO OFFICIAL AT-BAT…Shortstop J.P. Crawford has reached in each of his last 6 plate appearances despite not recording an “official at-bat”…on Thursday vs. Texas, Crawford drew 2 walks and was hit by a pitch…yesterday at the Dodgers, he drew 3 walks and also added in a stolen base and run scored…his 8 walks this spring lead all Cactus League hitters.
