ICHIRO SUZUKI TO THROW OUT CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH…the Mariners announced that Ichiro Suzuki, who is to be inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame in August, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch on April 15 when the Mariners open the season at T-Mobile Park.

EDGAR MARTINEZ REPLICA STATUE NIGHT…the Mariners announced that fans at T-Mobile Park on Saturday, April 23, when the Mariners meet the Kansas City Royals, will have the chance to take home a piece of Mariners history…the first 20,000 fans through the gates that night will receive a replica of the statue of Edgar Martinez that stands outside T-Mobile Park.

NUMBER ONE FARM SYSTEM…Seattle boasts the #1 farm system in the Majors as ranked by Baseball America, with 3 prospects in the top 18: OF Julio Rodríguez (#2), RHP George Kirby (#12) and INF Noelvi Marte (#18)…Rodriguez was added to the 40-man roster in the offseason, while Kirby and Marte are non-roster invitees…RHP Matt Brash (#45) also ranks in the Top 100 prospects.

2022 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE…the Mariners are set to open the 2022 regular season at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota against the Twins on April 7…six home games at T-Mobile Park originally scheduled from March 31-April 5 have been re-scheduled…two games against the Los Angeles Angels and two against the Detroit Tigers will be made up as doubleheaders, and the remaining two postponed Tigers games will be added to the final week of the season, with the Mariners last home game on Wednesday, Oct. 5.

COACHING STAFF…Mariners manager Scott Servais begins his 7th season as manager…he owns a 438–432 (.503) record as skipper…also returning to the coaching staff are third base coach Manny Acta, infield coach Perry Hill (also first base coach in 2021), pitching coach Pete Woodworth, bullpen coach Trent Blank, hitting coach Jarret DeHart (assistant hitting coach in 2021), ML field coordinator Carson Vitale, bullpen catcher Fleming Báez and batting practice pitcher Nasusel Cabrera…a trio of coaches join the 2022 Major League staff: hitting coach Tony Arnerich, first base coach Kristopher Negrón and ML coach Andy McKay.
