Young Guns — The Mariners pitching staff is the 3rd-youngest in the Majors this season with an average age of 27.7 years old, trailing only Cleveland (26.2) and Miami (27.6).

Take it to the Grave — Dating back to Sept. 9, 2020, Kendall Graveman has made 9 consecutive appearances without allowing a run, spanning 11.1 IP…during that stretch, he has allowed only 3 hits (all singles) and 4 walks with 8 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .088 batting average, a .205 on-base percentage and a .088 slugging percentage (.293 OPS).

THE MITCH IS BACK…right fielder Mitch Haniger went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and 3 RBI in yesterday’s win…Haniger has reached base safely in 15 of 16 games this season, hitting safely in 14 of 16…Haniger hit the Mariners first triple of the season yesterday off Astros starter Jake Odorizzi…Haniger became the first Seattle player to double and triple in the same game since Shed Long Jr. doubled and tripled on Sept. 22, 2019 in a 2–1 loss at Baltimore…Haniger is batting .338 (22x65) with 13 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 4 home runs, 14 RBI and 3 walks…his 22 hits are tied for most in the AL coming into play today and his 10 extra-base hits are tied for 2nd, trailing only Boston’s J.D. Martinez (12)…Haniger has gotten on-base at a .357 clip, slugging .631 with a .988 OPS in 70 plate appearances.

THE FRENCH CONNECTION…infielder Ty France reached base 3 times yesterday, going 2-for-3 with a double, home run, walk and 3 RBI…he has reached base safely in 14 of 16 games this season and has hit safely in 12 of 16…France hit a 2-run homer off Brooks Raley, becoming the 3rd Mariners player this season (Mitch Haniger, 4/3 vs. SF; Jose Marmolejos, 4/13-G2 at BAL) to double and homer in the same game…it was his 3rd home run of the season and 2nd at T-Mobile Park…France is batting .305 (18x59) with 12 runs scored, 4 doubles, 3 home runs, 10 RBI and 7 walks this season…he is getting on-base at a .400 clip with a .525 slugging percentage and .925 OPS.

STRIVE FOR FIVE…first baseman Evan White has an active 4-game hitting streak…he is batting .385 (5x13) with 1 home run, 2 RBI and 1 walk over his last 4 games…the hitting streak ties a career-high for White, last hitting safely in 4 consecutive games from Sept. 18–21, 2020…he batted an identical .385 (5x13) during that streak, hitting 2 home runs with 4 RBI.

FOUR SPOT…the Mariners have scored at least 4 runs in 7 of their last 9 games, in 8 of their last 11 games and 11 of their 16 games overall this season…Seattle’s 11 games of 4-or-more runs scored are tied for most in the Majors with Atlanta and Los Angeles-NL…the Mariners are 9–2 this season when scoring at least 4 runs in a game.
