AS YOU KNOWEugenio Suárez has recorded an RBI in a career-high 8 consecutive games (7/25-c), tied for the longest such streak in the Majors this season, but…DID YOU KNOW?…Geno’s active 8-game streak is tied for the 7th-longest RBI streak in MLB history by a Venezuelan-born player?…Suarez trails only streaks by Carlos Gonzáles-COL (11 G, 8/15–27/2011), Carlos Guillén-DET (11 G, 6/16–28/2007), Bobby Abreu-PHI (10 G, 5/8–18/2005), Pablo Sandoval-SF (9 G, 5/21–29/2014), Edgardo Alfonzo-NYM (9 G, 7/12–20/2002) and Magglio Ordóñez-CWS (9 G, 6/9–17/2000).

TONIGHT’S TILT…the Mariners begin a 4-game series at the Los Angeles Angels today, coming off a 3-game homestand vs. the Boston Red Sox (2–1)…following Sunday’s series finale in Los Angeles, the Mariners will return home for a 5-game homestand vs. San Diego (2 G, Aug. 8–9) and Baltimore (3 G, Aug. 11–13)…tonight’s game will be televised live on ROOT SPORTS with Dave Sims and Aaron Goldsmith on the call and broadcast live on Seattle Sports (710 AM) with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr. on the call.

GENO THE RUN PRODUCEREugenio Suárez has recorded an RBI in 8 consecutive games (7/25-c), the longest active RBI streak in the Majors and tied the longest in the Majors overall this season, joining Nolan Arenado-STL (8 G, 5/10–5/18) and Justin Turner-BOS (8 G, 6/30–7/8)…Suárez is the first Mariners player with a 8+ game RBI streak since fellow third baseman Kyle Seager recorded RBI in 8 consecutive contests from July 25-Aug. 2, 2021, exactly 2 years ago to the date that Suárez has put together his streak…with an RBI today, Geno would join Edgar Martinez (9 G, Aug. 12–20, 1995) as the only other Mariners batter to ever tally 9 consecutive games with an RBI.

J-ROD IS ALWAYS ON-BASEJulio Rodríguez has reached base safely in 27 consecutive games (7/1-c), the longest active on-base streak in the Major Leagues…during the streak, Julio is batting .287 (33x115) with 17 runs, 7 doubles, 4 home runs, 16 RBI, 7 walks, 3 hit-by-pitches and 7 stolen bases, getting on base at a .344 clip, slugging .452 with an .796 OPS…the 27-game on-base streak surpasses Julio’s previous-high on-base streak of 22 games (June 27-July 29, 2022) and is Seattle’s longest on-base streak within a single season since Robinson Canó reached safely in 34 consecutive games from April 30-June 5, 2016.

THE KID CAN PLAYCade Marlowe has reached base safely in each of his first 8 starts to begin his Major League career (11 G, 8 GS), batting .308 (8x26) with 5 runs, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 2 RBI and 5 walks, while reaching base at a .419 clip and slugging .577 with a .996 OPS through his first 11 career games…Marlowe’s .308 batting average is the best mark by a Mariners player over their first 11 career games since Kyle Lewis hit .333 over his first 11 games from Sept. 10–21, 2019…since making his MLB debut on July 20, Marlowe is averaging 4.61 pitches-per-plate appearance, 6th-most in MLB during that span (min. 30 PA).
