Mariners right-hander Paul Abbott made his second career postseason start in Game 4 of the 2000 ALCS opposite Yankees right-hander Roger Clemens.
Abbott made his postseason debut 10 days earlier, tossing 5.2 innings and allowing 2 runs (1 earned) in the Mariners 5–2 win over the White Sox in Game 2 of the ALDS.
Dave Niehaus, Rick Rizzs and Ron Fairly called the action on KIRO-710 AM and the Mariners Radio Network, while Bob Costas and Joe Morgan had the call on NBC-TV.
