There are so many great things about the game of baseball, but mainly, just the fact that you never know what you are going to see when you come out to to the ballpark. Last night the Mariners were trailing 2-0 heading into the bottom of the 9th inning against the Tigers. Doug Fister threw 7.0 solid innings, and the hits just were not falling for the Mariners.
But, just like that, two walks, a wild pitch, a passed ball, a double, a sac bunt and a sacrifice fly later, the Mariners notched the 3-2 win for their third straight victory. Walk-off wins are always special, seeing the team go crazy on the field, and sending Mariners fans home happy. Here are some great photos from last night’s win over the Tigers.
Chone Figgins hit his 8th career leadoff home run last night, his first as a Mariner, in the 4-1 win over the Cleveland Indians. In fact, it was the first leadoff home run by a Mariner not named Ichiro since Rickey Henderson on May 26, 2000 at Tampa Bay. Ichiro had hit the Mariners previous 36 leadoff homers.
The Mariners scored four runs over the final two innings, including a three-run 9th inning in tonight’s 4-3 comeback win over the Rangers. Here are some photos from tonight’s win:
Here are some photos from the Mariners 8-7 win over the A’s last night. Seattle is off to a 3-1 start and travel to Texas to play the Rangers in a four-game series starting Monday.
