This week on Mariners All-Access from ROOT SPORTS, in honor of PLAYBALL WEEKEND at Safeco Field and across Major League Baseball, a show dedicated to Little Leaguers and childhood baseball memories.

Wiffle Ball® – Learn how the Mariners got introduced to the game, how the Wiffle® Ball came to be and why the Mariners as an organization are committed to distributing 100,000 Wiffle Balls to kids throughout the Northwest.

Baseball Outside the U.S. – Little League isn’t just played in the United States. We’ll hear from some of the Mariners international players on their earliest memories of the game and the expectations that came with growing up in baseball-loving countries.

Player You Wanted to Be Like – Discover which players the Mariners wanted to be like growing up.

Who taught you to throw – For most players it was a simple game of catch in the backyard that planted the seed of becoming a Big League player. Hear the advice they got and learn who taught them to throw a baseball.

What did you break – You weren’t supposed to play baseball in the house, but inevitably it happened and something got broken as a result. Find out the results of Mariners playing baseball in the house.

You’ll also learn about the baseball cards collected by Mariners players, favorite baseball movies, best treats after Little League games and more. Plus, Take Me Out to the Ballgame as performed by several Mariners including Nelson Cruz and Felix Hernandez — on kazoo.
