Haley Loffer and Trevor Cogley, both of Hayden, Idaho, represented the Mariners at the Pitch, Hit and Run National Finals in Cincinnati.

The two competitors the Mariners sent to the Pitch, Hit & Run National Finals placed second and third in their divisions.

The finals were held last week at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, just before the All-Star Home Run Derby.

Haley Loffer, 13, of Hayden, Idaho, placed second in the 13-14 Year Old Girls Division, and 10-year old Trevor Cogley, also of Hayden, placed third in the 9-10 Year Old Boys Division.

Both Haley and Trevor qualified for the National Finals because they were among the three top finishers in their age divisions among all Pitch, Hit & Run competitors across the country. This was Trevor’s first trip to the Finals. Haley went to the 2013 Finals at Citi Field in New York, where she placed third in the 11-12 Year Old Girls Division.

Pitch, Hit & Run is part of “PLAY BALL,” MLB’s initiative aimed at getting kids to participate in all kinds of baseball and softball activities.
