King Felix Adds to All-Star Resume

2015 Mariners All-Stars Nelson Cruz, Lloyd McClendon and Felix Hernandez.

Felix Hernandez, Nelson Cruz and Lloyd McClendon represented the Mariners in tonight’s All-Star Game in Cincinnati, won by the American League 6-3.

Felix threw a 1-2-3 3rd inning with one strikeout, needing only 8 pitches to take care of  DJ LeMahieu (flyout), Andrew McCutchen (strikeout) and Todd Frazier (groundout). Felix has now worked 4.0 scoreless innings in his four All-Star game appearances (6 ASG selections). Felix is now one of 21 pitchers in All-Star Game history with 4.0 scoreless innings, and joins Tigers LHP David Price for most scoreless All-Star Game innings amongst active players.

Cruz went 0-for-2 making the start for the American League at designated hitter.

The American League beat the National League 6-3 to earn home field advantage for the AL in the World Series. The AL has won three consecutive Midsummer Classics, and 15 of the last 19.
