MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred Visits Mariners
It was an exciting and informative day for the Seattle Mariners. Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred flew in this afternoon and made time to talk to as many people as he could including the front office, players, coaching staff, owners as well as spending time in the TV and radio booths with Rick Rizzs, Aaron Goldsmith, Mike Blowers and Dave Sims.
Manfred arrived just after 2 pm and had a short meeting with Manager Lloyd McClendon before checking in with the entire front office. After he talked a bit about his first 74 days in office, he had a brief Q&A in which he discussed the challenges faced when making changes and used the pace of play initiative this season as an example.
Following his time with the front office in the main interview room, he went over to the Mariners clubhouse where he talked about what he was looking to accomplish in the immediate future. The Mariners players had plenty of questions for the commissioner which made it a great back-and-forth session that left everybody optimistic about the future.
In case you missed it, Manfred also sat down during the Mariners Pre-Game Show and discussed his day in Seattle.
