The  Mariners game vs. the Yankees tonight has been cancelled due to inclement weather (pouring rain in Manhattan) and rescheduled for Monday, June 2, 7:05 p.m. (ET) at Yankee Stadium. The two teams will play their regularly scheduled game tomorrow, Thursday, May 1, at 7:05 pm (ET)/4:05 pm (PT).

This is the first Seattle rainout in New York City since June 7, 2003, when Seattle was rained out while visiting the Mets, and the first rainout at the Yankees since May 18, 1988. It is the sixth overall rainout in New York, five vs. the Yankees and one vs. the Mets.

This is Seattle’s second rainout of the season. The Mariners had a game postponed due to poor field conditions on April 4 at Oakland. That game will be made up as the second game of a doubleheader on the final day of this trip, Wednesday, May 7 at Oakland.

The Mariners (11-14) are winners of 4 of their last 5 games, and will start LHP Roenis Elias tomorrow night. The Yankees will start RHP Hiroki Kuroda. RHP Felix Hernandez will now start Friday’s series opener at Houston.
