First Spring TV Broadcast Tomorrow vs. the Rockies
The first televised game of 2013 is tomorrow, when the Mariners host the Colorado Rockies at the Peoria Sports Complex. Air time is 12 noon Pacific time on ROOT SPORTS (1 pm in Arizona).
It will be a game fans in the Northwest won’t want to miss, as pitching prospects Danny Hultzen and Taijuan Walker are both scheduled to pitch multiple innings behind veteran starter Jon Garland. Heading into today’s game with the Rangers, the Mariners are 8-1 and have won eight consecutive Cactus League games.
The telecast is the first of six spring training games on ROOT SPORTS, which is scheduled to carry 159 of the Mariners 162 regular season telecasts this year. Two of the games that ROOT SPORTS will not carry are scheduled to be part of the national FOX –MLB Saturday package (June 15 and 29).
Tomorrow’s telecast will be a shared production with the Rockies, who will also carry the game in the Denver market. Mariners announcers Dave Sims and Mike Blowers will be joined by Rockies analyst Jeff Huson in the TV booth. ROOT SPORTS will also re-air the game at 10:30 pm PT Monday night.
