A Week of #EdgarHOF


This week, we celebrate a community leader, franchise icon & one of the best hitters of his generation: Edgar Martinez. #EdgarHOF will appear on a lot of tweets, and you may have noticed that the banner on our Twitter and Facebook pages currently pay tribute to Edgar.

There is of course a back story as to why we are doing this, and that is to raise awareness for Edgar’s candidacy for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. At the end of the 2004 baseball season, Martinez announced his retirement after 18 years in the Major Leagues, all with one team – the Seattle Mariners. One of baseball’s best hitters, Edgar is on the 2012-2013 Hall of Fame ballot for the fourth time.
