Port Orchard Teen Wins Pitch, Hit & Run National Championship

Andrew Canady of Port Orchard is the 2012 Pitch, Hit & Run Champion in the 13-14 Year Old Boys Division.
Andrew Canady of Port Orchard last night was crowned one of the 2012 Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run National Champions at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.
Canady, who qualified for the finals in the 13-14 Year Old Boys Division during a June 17 competition at Safeco Field, competed on field during Gatorade All-Star Workout Day, just before the State Farm Home Run Derby.
Canady was one of eight boys and girls from across the country to emerge as the best of their age group at the baseball skills challenge.
This is the fourth year in a row and the eighth in the last 10 years that the Mariners have had a Pitch,Hit &Run National Champion.
Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. More than 685,000 boys and girls participated in over 4,000 competitions across North America this year.
