Mariners Lineup vs. Detroit (04.25.12)

nice lineup card today..Liddi has earner the time to play, last season coming up and spring and this year… he is absolutely solid. love montero finally catching again but i’m guessing olivo is still in at dh because of the lefty matchup. Honestly this is where Wedge may over think his under performing vets. Seager is a hitter and he should dh smoak and put seager at third, Liddi at first.. I hope we eventually see Peguero and Robinson up soon as well because the future is now.. Noesi isn’t anymore ready than the 3 prospects we have. Changes need to happen soon. Because I’d rather, and I know the organization would rather lose and develop their prospects than lose with old under performing vets at certain spots. who knows maybe good things will happen. My ideal Line up for the future.. (trayvon) Robinson/gutierrez cf,Ackley 2b, Ichiro rf, montero c, liddi 1b/3b, smoak dh/1b, seager 3b/ss, carp lf/dh, peguero lf/dh. That is a committed line up for the future. Hope you all agree. I don’t even have to mention our pitching prospects, they’ll be up soon enough, although Walker has been most consistent he’s least likely to reach the majors because of his age? Come on guys, Felix was up at 18-19, some guys get hurt, some don’t, you can still manage his innings by moving him to the bullpen in August and September. All i know is Paxton, Hultzen, and Walker could blow and 8-1 lead against Cleveland and a 4-0 and 5-2 lead against Texas, so why aren’t they up here instead of wasting spots with Millwood and utilizing Noesi in the pen. I know I’m not the only one who can see this in and outside the organization.. Gooo Mariners!!

Great writeup! I totally agree that guys like Olivo (and Millwood!) are just blocking our young stars. In my opinion, the sooner we expose our young guys to major league talent, the better. What does killing it in the minor leagues while our major league clubs is a laughing stock prove? Nothing.

Well said Derek, I agree completely with the projected lineup and the pitching situation! I can see Nick Franklin coming up and replacing Ryan if he doesnt get that average up. But we need to get Oliva out and not waste time DHing him, I want to see Jaso in that spot or relieving Montero from the catcher spot, when he needs a day off behind the plate. As well as the obvious Chone..who is about to drop below .200 again. I still say this season has potential and regardless, I’ll always be a mariners fan.

Yeah good idea putting Olivo DH, what is his average now? .120? Might as well just have the DH slot be an Auto out, just skip right to the next hitter. I don’t get Wedge most the time.

Just replace Olivo w/ Jaso and that’s solid.
