While the Major League squad is a half a world away, and 16 hours ahead, in Japan preparing for the season opener vs. the A’s, Mariners minor league camp is in full swing back in Peoria. The Mariners four affiliates will have a camp day today playing Intrasquad games in Peoria. Starting pitchers are scheduled to be RH Jeff Marquez (AAA), RH Brandon Maurer (AA), RH Carson Smith (A-High Desert) and RH Stephen Landazuri (A-Clinton).

The Mariners minor league teams went 3-0-1 yesterday vs. San Diego, and are 18-8-2 overall in spring training play. Here is a brief recap of yesterday’s games vs. the Padres affiliates:
