Mariners Beat Royals 6-2: Box Score | Recap
The Mariners improved to 10-3-1 with their fourth win in the last five games, and remained atop the Cactus League standings. Vinnie Catricala had a pair of run-scoring singles, Michael Saunders tabbed a two-run double and Kevin Millwood fired 4.0 shutout innings to lead Seattle to the win.
Baseball Tonight Bus Tour:
The Baseball Tonight Bus Tour made their way to the Mariners complex in Peoria and brought with them Tim Kurkjian and Aaron Boone (played for Wedge in 2005 & 2006). The trio spent the day interviewing Dustin Ackley, Felix Hernandez and Eric Wedge. Tom Wilhelmsen, Charlie Furbush, Erasmo Ramirez, Alex Liddi, Vinnie Catricala, Kyle Seager, Blake Beavan, Jesus Montero, Dustin Ackley, Felix Hernandez, Eric Wedge, Danny Hultzen, Taijuan Walker and Steve Delabar all took a tour of the bus. The bus is the same one used for Monday Night Football. Tune in to Baseball Tonight over the next few days to see the features on the Mariners.
Jason Vargas In Minor League Game:
The Mariners Major League game isn’t until tonight, but starter Jason Vargas got his work in with the minor leaguers by tossing the equivalent of 6.1 innings (recorded four outs in some frames) and got his pitch count up to 94 while allowing three runs including a home run.
