First pitch at game time was 69° with not a cloud in the sky. Temperatures topped out in the mid 70’s, with the highs expected to approach 80° by early next week.

Mariners Have 5-Game Winning Streak Snapped:
The Mariners surrendered a spring-high four home runs and had their five-game winning streak snapped in an 8-5 loss to the Diamondbacks Friday afternoon in front of 8,935 fans at Peoria Stadium. First baseman Alex Liddi went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Carlos Peguero hit his team-high third home run in the loss. Mike Carp added two hits and Brendan Ryan hit a triple. Seattle out-hit Arizona 12-11, but could not make up for the Diamondbacks four home runs. Starting pitcher Jason Vargas (0-1) was saddled with the loss allowing six hits and five runs in 4.0 innings.

Seattle hosts the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow afternoon in Peoria (1:05 p.m.), in the first of two split-squad games on Saturday. The Mariners also play the Diamondbacks tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. at Salt River Fields. The Mariners will travel to Scottsdale on Sunday to face the Giants.
